Fat Freezing is a great option for fat reduction freezing the fat cells in a specific area of the body. Fat cells cannot survive in these temperatures. They die and leave the body through the lymphatic system. As a result of this, fat in the target area is reduced, giving you a healthier and more toned appearance.
Fat Freezing treatment aims to freeze fat and promote natural fat metabolism
Over the next 6 months, your body naturally promote fat motabolism and eliminates fat cells, leaving a more sculpted you.
During your consultation, we will discuss your goals and tailor a treatment plan that aligns with your needs. Once we have completed your consultation, you will be asked to relax on a comfortable bed while a gel pad and cooling applicator is placed on the target area.
The applicator uses suction to pull the fat into the applicator cup, you will feel a slight pulling or tugging on the area, but this is completely normal.
Next, the applicator will freeze the fat. You will likely feel a cooling sensation, but typically, this does not cause any pain.
Once the applicator is settled, it will stay on the area for approxemately 45 mins to one hour. Any slight discomfort will typically last no more than 5 minutes. After treatment is completed, the applicator is taken off and the area is massaged in order to break down the crystals.
Fat Freeze is a noninvasive body contouring treatment that can help promote natural fat motabolism for fat reduction and overall reduce unwanted fat cells.. The idea came from the observation of a child’s temporarily loss of cheek fat (a phenomenon called cold-panniculitis) after sucking on an ice-popsicle. The first fat freeze machine was first introduced in 2007. It is now used for body contouring and is an alternative to liposuction and surgical fat resection (commonly known as “tummy tuck”).
Because fat cells are vulnerable to cold it causes the fat to die over time (a process called apoptosis). Apoptosis causes the release of inflammatory molecules (cytokines) around the treatment area; this is our body’s way of “cleaning up” dead debris.
For mechanisms not entirely clear, it is hypothesized that over 5-6 months following treatment, our body naturally processes the dead cells, transporting them through the lymphatic system and eventually eliminating them.
The end result is a reduction in the thickness of the fat layer. During this period when fat cells (adipocytes) gradually disappear, there is typically no increase in blood levels of fat (lipid) or change in liver enzymes. This makes researchers believe that cryolipolysis is a safe process of metabolism.
